Argumento The Cat In The Hat

Sally (Dakota Fanning) y Conrad (Spencer Breslin), diferentes como el día y la noche, han acabado con la paciencia de su madre soltera, Joan Walden (Kelly Preston). Las tra-vesuras de Conrad han hecho que su madre se esté pensando seriamente la sugerencia de su vecino y preten-diente Lawrence Quinn (Alec Baldwin) de enviar a su hijo a una academia militar. Sally tiene una conducta mejor pero no tiene ami-gas porque ninguna soporta su carácter mandón, que le lleva a re-gañar sin cesar a su hermano y a pergeñar listas de “Cosas que hay que hacer” que actualiza continuamente. La madre trata de mantener la paz en el hogar y al mismo tiempo desarrolla con éxito una carrera en una agencia inmobiliaria dirgida por el germófobo Sr. Humberfloob (Sean Hayes). Pero ese día Joan tiene que organizar una fiesta de empresa y, harta de las trastadas de Conrad, lanza un real decreto materno: Sally y Conrad no podrán salir de casa mientras ella esté en el trabajo y les queda prohibido romper nada o hacer la más mínima travesura. Los chicos se quedan sin nada que hacer, más allá de mirar por la ventana mientras su cuidadora, la señora Kwan (Amy Hill), dormita en el salón. Entonces es cuan-do llega un invitado inesperado, un genuino animal juerguista que les hace una revelación inesperada que cambiará sus vidas: “Está bien divertirse… pero hay que saber cómo hacerlo”. ¿Alguien quiere jugar?
